Basic project operations

Create a new project

To create a new project, select the New button.

When you start Data Management, a new project is automatically created.

Projects can be stored as files or as objects in the repository. Projects stored as repository projects can be managed with Data Management's version control facility.

Save a project

  1. Select Save.

  2. Browse to the desired destination folder or specify a new folder.

  3. Enter a name for the project, then select Save.

  4. If you are saving to the repository, you may be prompted to enter a version comment.

Change a project

It's often easier to change a previously constructed project than to create a new one. Simply open an existing project and change the configuration to suit your preferences. When you are done, select Save As from the File menu and save the modified project under a different name.

Open a project

  1. Select Open.

  2. Browse to the desired project and then select Open.

To open a project you've used recently, select its name at the bottom of the File menu.

Get a head start on building a new project by opening a sample project and changing it to meet your requirements.

Rename a project

  1. Open the project you want to rename.

  2. On the File menu, select Save As. You'll be prompted to assign a new name to the project.
