System requirements
All computers in a Data Management installation must have their system locale set to English-US (en_US
).
Overview
Data Management has the following minimum system requirements.
The Site Service, Execution Service, and client can potentially run on three separate computers. If any of these components are co-located, the requirements are additive.
Site Service requirements
Operating systems:
Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server Core 2019
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8 (64-bit); CentOS 7, 8, or 9 (64-bit); Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or 22.04 LTS; Amazon Linux 2
Intel or AMD 1.5Ghz processor
4GB RAM for small teams, 8GB for large multi-user organizations
500 MB free disk space to install Data Management application files
At least 4 GB free disk space in installation folder or alternate data folder for log files
TCP/IP network, 1Gbps+ recommended
Execution Service requirements
Operating systems:
Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server Core 2019
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8 (64-bit); CentOS 7, 8, or 9 (64-bit); Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or 22.04 LTS; Amazon Linux 2
Modern Intel or AMD processor (2Ghz+, Intel Xeon, 4+ Cores recommended)
8GB RAM (16GB+ recommended, more for simultaneous use)
2 GB free disk space to install Data Management application files
At least 4 GB free disk space in install folder or alternate data folder for log files
2 GB free disk space to install CASS module
1.5 GB free disk space to install Geocoder module
Up to 12 GB may be required for Global Address module
Additional disk space for temporary files (see below)
TCP/IP network, 1Gbps+ recommended
Multiple high-performance disk drives, fast processors, more CPU cores, and more memory will improve performance. Server operating systems perform better because of more efficient disk caching and higher memory addressability.
Disk space requirements for data processing depend on the size of the databases you will be processing and the type of processing you will perform. Certain Data Management tools and processes generate larger temp files than others. A general rule of thumb: have temporary disk space equal to twice your input file size, more if very complex processing is performed. We recommend that temp space be configured as multiple independent disks rather than one large volume. Solid State Drives (SSDs) are extremely well-suited as temp space disks for Data Management, and we recommend their use.
If you are writing results to disk, you will need space to hold the results in addition to the input files and temp files.
Client requirements
Record processing does not occur on the client, so the client computer need not be high-performance. However, it is written using a modern programming language and requires an up-to-date version of Microsoft Windows.
Operating system: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019
Intel or AMD 1.5Ghz processor
4GB RAM
Ability to attach to TCP/IP network
CD-ROM drive, if installing from CD-ROM
Mouse or other pointing device
Minimum 1024x768 display (HD monitor recommended)
