AO Parsing Assistant

Advanced Object (AO) Parsing Assistant is an all-in-one macro designed to parse, standardize, and normalize common data elements.

This macro requires that the CASS address standardization module be licensed and installed in order to run.

AO Parsing Assistant configuration parameters

AO Parsing Assistant has two sets of configuration parameters: Input and Settings.

AO Parsing Assistant Input tab

Company / institution

Business name

Field containing company name. Default: Blank.

Name

First

Field containing given name (John A Smith Jr). Default: Blank.

Mid

Field containing middle name (John A Smith Jr). Default: Blank.

Last

Field containing surname (John A Smith Jr). Default: Blank.

Suffix

Field containing generation name (John A Smith Jr). Default: Blank.

Address

Address1

Field containing first line of unparsed address. Default: Blank.

Address2

Field containing second line of unparsed address. Default: Blank.

City

Field containing city. Default: Blank.

State

Field containing state. Default: Blank.

ZIP

Field containing ZIP Code. Default: Blank.

Lastline

Field containing city, state, and ZIP Code. Default: Lastline.

Other

Phone

Field containing telephone number field. Default: Blank.

Email

Field containing consumer email address. Default: None.

SSN

Field containing Social Security Number. Default: None.

URL

Field containing web address. Alternate input field can be specified. Default: Blank.

AO Parsing Assistant Settings tab

Name options

Capitalization

Controls the capitalization of name output data. Default: UPPERCASE.

Reparse name

Select to combine parsed name input into a string and parse again. Default: No.

Address options

Capitalization

Controls the capitalization of CASS output data. Default: UPPERCASE.

Geocode

Specifies whether to geocode the address, and if so, which geocode to use: Geocoder, or the CASS ZIP4 Centroid (output by the Standardize Address tool). Default: None.

Phone options

Output phone format

Select the format for valid standardized phone number. Defined formats are:

  • (XXX)XXX-XXXX

  • (XXX) XXX-XXXX

  • (XXX)-XXX-XXXX

  • XXX-XXX-XXXX

  • XXX.XXX.XXXX

  • XXXXXXXXXX

Default: (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

Configure AO Parsing Assistant

  1. Select AO Parsing Assistant, and then select the Input tab on the Properties pane.

  2. Specify Company, Name, Address, and Other fields to be parsed.

  3. Optionally, select the Settings tab and edit Name, Address, and Phone options.

  4. Optionally, go to the Execution tab, and then set Web service options.
